All-Stars Honor Stevie Wonder, Stevie Wonder Upstages All-Stars at Grammy Tribute

The music luminaries that partied at Los Angeles’s Staples Center at Sunday night’s Grammys moved the festivities across the street Tuesday to the Nokia Theater, to honor 25-time Grammy-winner Stevie Wonder. Stevie Wonder: Songs In the Key of Life — An All-Star Grammy Salute featured such illustrious talent as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, John Legend, and Tony Bennett, but in the end, none of these stars were able to outshine Wonder himself.

I would have loooved to hear Gladys Knight sing. Shame that the Grammys push legendary artist into a lil corner after a certain time over younger performers. When honoring Stevie, Gladys should have been a performer. Ugh! I'd pick Gladys over any of them. Lady Gaga was good though, she is just a true talent and lately we've been able to see her talent more so than it be covered by gimmicks and costume.

Some of you may think Stevie has become old school but Ray Charles did not become that even as he sang a set list from way back. Stevie's compositions are timeless and beautiful and deserves a lot more than this two hour tribute but we will take it and try to catch him at one of the regional concerts he continues to perform. We are very lucky to have all this music from one man with a special gift.
