Rihanna Blasts CBS for Pulling Song from 'Thursday Night Football'

Less than a week after CBS elected not to air a performance by Rihanna during Thursday Night Football, the singer has fired back at the network on Twitter. The network chose to postpone the pop star's musical opening last week – a performance of "Run This Town," TMZ reports – in light of the Ray Rice domestic-abuse scandal, as it would have played during a game by Rice's old team, the Baltimore Ravens, and Rihanna was the victim of Chris Brown's assault in 2009. Now the singer is speaking out.

"CBS, you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday?" the pop star tweeted. "No, f**k you! Y'all are sad for penalizing me for this." Then, in another tweet, she simply wrote, "The audacity...."

In related news, Chris Brown offered some words of advice to Rice after the scandal broke with a video showing the football player brutalizing his wife in an elevator and leaving her limp in its doorway. "I think it's all about the choices you make," the singer told MTV. "With me, I deal with a lot of anger issues from my past – not knowing how to express myself verbally and, at the same time, not knowing how to cope with my emotions and deal with them and understand what they are."

After extolling the virtues of therapy, the singer addressed the athlete. "To Ray, or anybody else – because I'm not better than the next man – I can just say I've been down that road," Brown said. "I deal with situations and I've made my mistakes, too, but it's all about how you push forward and how you control yourself."
