Metallica has announced they are reissuing their long out-of-print documentary, ‘Metallica: Some Kind of Monster,’ on a two-disc Blu-Ray on November 24.
The documentary which covered bassist Jason Newsted’s 2001 departure, battles with addiction, the making of ‘St. Anger,’ and more, will now also contain a 25-minute follow-up piece. ‘Metallica: This Monster Lives’–which includes the band members and the doc’s filmmakers, Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky–was filmed at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival during the release of the band’s ‘Metallica: Through the Never.’
The band has also announced they will be doing a special Record Store Day vinyl. The “Lords of Summer” 12-inch single will feature the “first pass” studio version and unreleased live version of the song, while Side B will feature a laser etching of the Metallica “M” logo.
